Rangers have wrapped up the signing of Belgium international Thomas Buffel from Feyenoord.

Buffel has spent the past few days discussing a switch to Ibrox after Rangers struck a deal with their Dutch counterparts on the cusp of the New Year.

The Scottish giants have stumped up 2.3 million to bring the forward to Glasgow after fending off interest from around the continent.

Stuttgart, Benfica and Anderlecht have all been keen on Buffel but he has rejected their advances in favour of Rangers.

The skilful attacker has penned a four-and-a-half year contract with Rangers after opting to end his association with Feyenoord.

The 23-year-old had spent five years at De Kuip and follows in the footsteps of former Feyenoord players in heading to Ibrox.

Both Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Bert Konterman made the same switch in recent years and Buffel will hope for similar success with The Gers.

lol. i heard he said something like, bert konterman at rangers was awful and even he managed to get into the holland squad lol. i think he seen it as a steping now, looking at how gio van bronkhorst and larsson looked far too good for the league and ended up at a much better place.

should be a good signing though.
