European: Zidane quits International Football

Zinedine Zidane quit the international stage the way he played the game - simply, quietly, effectively, diplomatically, stylishly and with the minimum amount of fuss.

The 32-year-old playmaker, affectionately known as Zizou, chose to make the announcement that he will never again pull on the famous blue shirt of France on his own website, www.zidane.fr

And he emphasised that the end of his international career was not a spur-of-the-moment decision - far from it.
