European: Inter winger on his way?

Andy van der Meyde's Internazionale future is again the subject of speculation after he was omitted from the squad for the UEFA Champions League qualifier against Basel.

The Dutch international has struggled to set Giuseppe Meazza alight since his arrival from Ajax last summer.

He failed to figure prominently under first Hector Cuper, then Alberto Zaccheroni but was hoping for a fresh start with new coach Roberto Mancini.

But he has been omitted from Mancini's first competitive squad for Wednesday's crunch qualifier against Swiss side Basel.

Though Inter insist the winger has been left out due to a lack of fitness, the rumour mill is buzzing that he will soon be on his way.
