Jurgen Klinsmann has been named as the new coach of the German national team.

As expected Klinsmann will be joined by two assistants in a three-man team with former Germany striker Oliver Bierhoff and Holger Osieck.

Bierhoff will be the fitness coach while Osieck will have a general manager's role, and the trio will now be charged with leading the host nation in the 2006 World Cup. Klinsmann will pick the team.

This was a good decision made by German officials. Klinsman is the better man for the coaching job. To think they were going to go with Hitzfeld as the German National coach is just mind boggling...

Klinsman is definatly the best choice as you say. He was a fantastic player and had great skill for a forward. I remember watching play in the UK for Tottenham and he was one of the best strikers i have seen.
