Coca-Cola Divisions: Blues chariman wanted to keep savage

Birmingham City president David Sullivan has stated he would have made Robbie Savage see out his contract with the club.

The Wales international midfielder penned a four-year deal with Blues last summer, only to hand in a transfer request during the January transfer window.

Savage has now signed for Blackburn, but had it been down to Sullivan, and not manager Steve Bruce, the 30-year-old would still be at St Andrews
