hmmm. does the title make sense? well. lack of faces at crystal palace has made dowie upset

Crystal Palace boss Iain Dowie has admitted he was hugely frustrated at not being able to bring in new faces during the transfer window.

Indeed, Dowie believes the club's failure to bolster their squad could see them pay the ultimate price at the end of the season.

Unlike most of their relegation rivals, the South Londoners were not able to finalise any deals despite being in the hunt for a host of names including Dean Ashton, Nigel Reo-Coker, Francesco Coco and Anthony Le Tallec.

the chairman hits back

Simon Jordan has hit back at claims by Iain Dowie that the club showed a lack of ambition by failing to sign new players during the transfer window.

Dowie voiced his frustration at being unable to bolster his squad during January, and warned it could cost a huge price at the end of the season in relegation.

He intimated that Jordan's failure to pay agent fees had undermined his bid to get in fresh faces, and also took a swipe at the club's training facilities.
