Birmingham City have awarded Darren Anderton with a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2006.

The former Tottenham midfielder has been in fine form of late, with Birmingham finally shaking off a poor start to the season.

The 32-year-old contracted until 2005 with Blues, but has now been handed a contract that will see him tied to the club until he is 35.

Anderton's talent has never been questioned, but the player has picked up a reputation as one of The Premiership's more injury-prone players.

yer. a long contract on him may be a gamble as he is very injury prone. imagine if i he got ruled out for the rest of the season, it will cost them big time

Thats a shocker, although he has been playing quite well. As ya say Rynaldo thats a bit of a risk.
