Former Sunderland and Leeds manager Howard Wilkinson has been appointed temporary first-team coach of Leicester.
Wilkinson, the one-time England caretaker coach and technical director, will work with Foxes stand-in Dave Bassett, following the resignation of Micky
Adams on Monday.
Bassett told Sky Sports News: "I spoke to Howard about helping Leicester out and he's accepted that situation."
And the Foxes director of football believes Wilkinson can play a part in helping Leicester regain their Premiership status at the first attempt.
He continued: "He's an experienced fellow and a quality coach and he has been around for a long time.
"As caretaker manager I needed to bring someone in who was available and flexible - we need to make an impact at getting some results."
Bassett was unable to confirm how long Wilkinson, 60, would be involved in his role at the Walkers Stadium.
