Coca-Cola Divisions: Eagles to move for Italian

Crystal Palace are reported to be ready to swoop for giant Italian goalkeeper Paolo Acerbis.

The 23-year-old, who currently plays for Serie B outfit Albinoleffe, had a trial with The Eagles last week and impressed boss Iain Dowie.

Reports in Italy claim that Acerbis has travelled back to Italy for the time being, and is awaiting the result of talks between the two clubs.

Palace have yet to agree a fee with the Italian minnows but should be able to land the custodian for a reasonable price if Dowie decides to press ahead with a move.
