Nickname: The Clarets
Ground: Turf Moor
Capacity: 22,546
Last season: 19th
Manager: Steve Cotterill (June 2004)

In: John McGreal (Ipswich), Michael Duff (Cheltenham, 30,000), Micah Hyde (Watford), Frank Sinclair (Leicester), Danny Coyne (Leicester, 25,000).

Out: Glen Little (Reading), Dean West (Lincoln), Mark McGregor (Blackpool), Paul Weller, David May, Alan Moore.

Verdict: With Stan Ternent gone after seven eventful years, Steve Cotterill must steady the ship and try to avoid another battle against relegation. His first job will be to shore up a notoriously leaky defence.

Key man: Robbie Blake.

Burnley boss Steve Cotterill was 'gutted' after his side bowed out of the FA Cup against Blackburn.

The Clarets went out to their local rivals after a late winner from Morten Gamst Pedersen.

"I am gutted, really gutted - for our lads and for the supporters who really craved a win here," said Cotterill.
