By Anthony Evans and pic by Tom Hogan: Undisputed junior middleweight champion Ronald 'Winky' Wright is digging his heels in over the purse he expects to receive if he moves up to middleweight to face mega-star Felix Trinidad in the spring. The king of the 154lbs divisions seems insistent that he be paid no less than $5million to face Tito on the mooted April 9 date, feeling his brace of impressive wins over Shane Mosley justify that kind of purse.
Winky was offered $5million by promoter Don King to be Tito's inaugural comeback opponent after the Puerto Rican power-puncher returned from his self-imposed exile last October. However, Wright was contractually (and, he felt, morally) obligated to give Mosley an immediate rematch of their March bout and thus Ricardo Mayorga wound up facing Tito at Madison Square Garden on October 2.
