Frank Maloney has urged fans to get behind Scott Harrison for the sake of Scottish sport and to keep the country's only boxing world champion fighting in his home town.
The WBO featherweight champion takes on Swedish-based Ethiopian Samuel Kebede at the Braehead Arena but the Cambuslang fighter's potentially record-breaking sixth defence of his title has so far failed to capture the imagination of the punters.
The 6000 capacity venue is far from a sell-out and Maloney insists his fighter deserves the support of the sporting public and could fight elsewhere in the future.
He said: "It's important to sell out the fight not only to keep Scott Harrison fighting in Glasgow but also to keep Scottish boxing going well.
"We've got to get this so-called Tartan Army to come out and get behind him.
"They go to rugby, they go to football and I don't care what anyone says, Scott is the most successful sportsman in Scotland at the moment.
