Anthony "the Man" Mundine ensured himself another shot at the WBA super middleweight title he once held, with an impressive stoppage win over Juarne Dowling on Wednesday night at the Carrara Sports Complex on the Gold Coast in Australia. After Dowling had summoned every ounce of will and determination to pick himself up off the canvas in the 3rd round, courtesy of a booming right hand, the current Australian super middleweight champion was then trapped on the ropes and unable to fight back when the referee brought a holt to the contest.
"It was pretty quick man," Mundine 22-2 (17) said, of the early round win at the post-fight press conference. "I was just trying to establish my jab early. I was looking between rounds 6 and 10 to put on the pressure, but after I caught him, the game plan sort of changed."
