Boxing: Surprise! Sulaiman stays on as WBC President

Just 24 hours after announcing he was to step down as President of the World Boxing Council, Jose Sulaiman has announced

WBC official begged him to stay on, apparently. Sulaiman has called this tune many times since taking over the WBC in 1975 but, after his arrogance very nearly took the WBC into liquidation (the Rocchigiani affair) it seemed like his position had become untenable.

However, the man who has been know to take a swing at critic members of the press and add up scorecards will stay on in his role.
