Boxing: Klitschko v Williams will be in USA

The WBC world heavyweight title fight between Vitali Klitschko and Danny 'Legend Killer' Williams will most likely take place in mid-December in the United States.

There had been talk of Ukrainian Klitschko making his inaugural defence in Germany, where he has been based for much of his seven year career, but now New York's Madison Square Garden and several Las Vegas casinos are the front runners.

The fight is close to being a 'done deal' as it is possible without having ink on a contract. The one hold up is the champion's legal business with former promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl; that business - Kohl is arguing that Klitschko's promotional contract with him has yet to expire - is expected to be concluded in a matter of days if, as widely expected, a German court rules Kohl no longer has any promotional entitlements to the champion.
