In June, underachieving British heavyweight Danny Williams
accepted what, in international pay-per-view terms, was bum money to fight two-time world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in Louisville, Kentucky. Williams told anyone who would listen he'd undercut what Kevin McBride had been offered to fight Iron Mike because he truly believed he'd knock Tyson out.
To the shock of many the gamble paid off with a four round crushing of the former 'Baddest Man on the Planet'. Now Williams is almost a cert to challenge Vitali Klitschko for the World Boxing Heavyweight championship in the Ukrainian's adoptive Germany on December 10 or 17. And Williams, who began 2004 with a dreadful performance in losing his British Title to Michael Sprott, is steely confident of finishing the annum as the heavyweight champion of the world.
