ATHENS -- Over the years, the United States has won 106 boxing medals at the Olympics -- twice as many as any other country.

Americans have won 47 gold medals. Cuba, which now dominates Olympic boxing, has won just 47 medals overall.

But this year, heading into the semifinals, the U.S. has only two boxers left in the competition.

Teddy Atlas, the former trainer for Mike Tyson and currently the boxing analyst for NBC at the Olympic Games, gives his views on the state of amateur boxing in the United States in this question-and-answer session.
