The report of former world welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga being involved in a car accident in his native Nicaragua, losing control of his BMW Z3, plunging down an embankment Friday, appears to be incorrect. According to Mayorga rep Tony Gonzalez, Mayorga was not in the car at the time of the accident.

The red sports car was being driven by his chauffeur and it was he who was pulled out of the crash site not Mayorga.
