It is a measure of Danny Williams' new-found confidence that he has agreed to fight Oleg Maskaev in his first fight since beating Mike Tyson.

Williams, transformed from domestic also-ran into one of the most immediately marketable heavyweights on the planet, had been expected to sit sight and await lucrative offers.

Evander Holyfield had been among those clamouring for a fight with Williams, while names like Vitali Klitschko, Antonio Tarver and Tyson again were also mentioned.

But eager to maintain his momentum, Williams has decided to risk everything by taking what amounts to a tune-up fight against a legitimate fringe contender who holds a knockout win over Hasim Rahman.
