In wake of WBA Light Welterweight champion Vivian Harris' refusal to face his mandatory challenger Ricky Hatton, Frank Warren, chief of Europe's biggest boxing promotional company Sports Network, is searching for a replacement opponent for Hatton's next fight to be held October 2nd in Manchester, England. Initially agreed to by both Hatton and Harris' camps, the original deal fell apart after American subscription television network Showtime pulled out it's involvement and financial support for the bout. Already Warren has attempted to entice popular American based fighter Arturo Gatti into the ring with Hatton but to no avail, as the WBC champion declined the offer. While remaining optimistic about securing a viable bout for Hatton, the longtime WBU titlist, Warren had less than complimentary things to say in regards to Harris.
