Hopkins-Oscar in Jeopardy?
By Scoop Malinowski
While just about everybody in boxing assumes September 18th is a GO for the much-anticipated "Fight of the Century", Boxinginsider.com has learned there do exist whispers to the contrary.
This past weekend an extremely credible, very well-placed source dropped this mini-bombshell: "The fight might not happen. It's about 50/50. They're saying it's not selling. They're going to go on with the New York press conference but you know they have ways to stop the fight, Oscar can hurt his hand or something."
Most likely and hopefully this report could eventually prove to be innaccurate, but I am suddenly a little suspicious - considering the 100% reliability factor of the source (who insisted that his name not be used) as well as the well-documented insincerities of some of the other characters involved.
