Seven years ago, on June 28, 1997, a crazed Mike Tyson was disqualified from a world heavyweight title fight for ripping chucks of Evander Holyfield's ears off with his teeth. It was an act of such sickening savagery that he should have been banned from the sport forever; but, instead, he was given a 'lifetime ban' by the Nevada State Athletic Commission which barely lasted the lifetime of a greenfly.
In his next fight he tried to break Frans Botha's arm with an armlock, in his fight after that Tyson blatantly hit Orlin Norris after the bell ended the first round and was lucky to escape with a 'non contest'. He has not been welcome in Las Vegas, the world fight capital, since and instead has taken his theatre of the absurd to England, Scotland, Denmark and various boxing backwarters in the US of A.
