Felix Cora and Terrence Cauthen emerged victorious with points wins in their respective match-ups at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois on Friday night.

Cora won the vacant USBA cruiserweight title by out-pointing Michael Sims while NABF junior-welterweight champion Cauthen out-pointed Roberto Ortega over 10 laborious rounds in a rematch.

Simms enjoyed success in the early part of this ESPN2 televised card against Cora but the 24 year-old southpaw's relentless workrate on the inside allowed him to forge ahead in the latter part of the fight. Cora proved the stronger of the two at the final bell of a close and keenly contested bout. The scores were 116-112 on two of the judges cards while the third saw it even at 114-114. Cora is now 14-0-2-(7) while Simms drops to 13-2-1-(11).
