De La Hoya got what he wanted Saturday, but hardly in the way he desired.

De La Hoya scored a unanimous decision over unheralded Felix Sturm before 13,041 at the MGM Grand to win the WBO middleweight title and set up a rich Sept. 18 bout against Bernard Hopkins.
