I live in canada, and I can say that the article is pretty accurate. Canada is fairly tolerant of anything, the political climate is quainter, and we are getting a little on the anti-american side. ATSers, make your pilgramages here in case of NWO invasion.

LOL if you come here then I am definitely leaving!

How about all the lefties leave the US and come to Canada and all the conservatives (the few there are now in a socialistic country like this), leave for the US.

Fair deal, when can we do it?
I'm comin' man!! Don't close the border yet!

I thought the article inferred that Conservatives in Canada were considered wackos. How is this to be considered tollerant?

It did say social conservative. And I think his comment was tongue in cheek.

ROFLMFAO!

Not at you but the thought that Canada is not within the grips of the globalistic socialistic cabal or OWO.

Man, they own this country.

Maybe it is time the US takes all their jobs back, you can start with the auto companies. See if the fools up here can get the Europeans to take care of them.

Why, is Canada exemt from the NWO? New World Order=Canada too

Frankly, I am finding Canada to be MORE intollerant everyday. We now have a high profile court case in Toronto concerning a man that used to live in Canada but went to the US about 2 years ago. His great crime is that he disputes accepted facts and figures concerning the holocaust. For this the Jewish lobby has him imprisoned for 6 months while TRYING to drum up enough evidence for a CHARGE!

Those of you that think that Canada is democratic and the US is not are GREATLY DELUDED!

You're talking about Ernst Zundel here, THENEO?

That's right!

While I am not sure about all the issues involved in revisionist history of WWII I do believe that people have a right to 'free speech.'

I sure hope they still do...

I would agree. And I think that him merely questioning the numbers, and then the Jewish groups calling him a holocaust denier is a big leap. They're two different things, and he should be able to question it freely.

LOL! I know...extreme and I am Canadian too.

What I refer to is that recently a US radio show was taken off the air for free speech. It happened due to the CRTC which is censorship central.

And the 30% means that Canadian stations are required to broadcast Canadian shows 30% of the time. Name one good Canadian show. LOL!

As for guns, yes...I know.

Truly, things are not good in this country.

I think that many people, both inside Canada and outside mistake the Canadian demeanor as happiness and compliance with the increasing repressiveness I am seeing here.

But I happen to know that many people are not happy and many private conversations confirm this.

THENEO, I've proposed that we swtich places several times. I get to go to Canada and you can come here. Though it's kind of liberal in Central New York. You can go to where I really come from, Texas.

Canadians just don't get it about marijuana.

The fun is doing something illegal and projecting an image of onself as "cool" and "rebellious" and "an outlaw."

If you smoke marijuana legally, then you're just another Joe Shmoe with a dirty, costly habit that gives you lung cancer.

I'm Canadian and I love my country, but this bragging about our country new attitude is really pissing me off!

Don't bring the argument! Thats not how we used to do it in the past.........we used to sit back, let the Americans speak....then prove there facts wrong

Keep quiet, let them speak, then make them look like complete idiots

Thats the canadian way of staying leveled ......don't forget where your coming from

Killill,

it is a piss poor excuse for a country that can only define itself by its ability to differentiate itself and distance itself from annother country.

that is what's wrong with Canada, it really has no sense of self and most of all what it does display is often that which resembles an adolescent.

adolescents defy for the sake of defying. Ask them why and you get either little explanation or very idealistic reasoning. Clearly indicative of a certain level of immaturity and lack of experience. How can Canada criticize the US on its approach to world affairs when we cannot manage the question of 'Canada?'

believe me Canada is in question too,

Quebec runs this country while everyone else buries their heads in the sand and goes about their business. For any American that wants to know, France won the war on the plains of Abraham for control of this country, despite what your history books may tell you otherwise.

You are not speaking for me on that The Neo.....thats for sure.

I disagree with you on a lot of issues. First, Canada has a very strong identity. We our a peace loving, social conscious country that always puts peoples needs as the first priority. Canada is the country that is going to lead the world into the 21st century. Not America, not China, not Britain.....none of them are capable. The world needs more Canada, and we our the country that fulfills its commitments to mankind. We have gone through with Kyoto, despite our neighbors to the south. And we will continue to take the right steps to move forward into the future. That is the problem with the United States currently. They cannot adapt to the world, for they want the world to adapt to them. Well thats not how it works, we must all work together. They have blown their chance of leading the world into the 21st century. History will show the downfall of America pinpointed to one dark day. September 11th showed the true colors of America. There governments secret tactics became very transparent as a result. The world woke up, and Americas respect has all but faded. Its time we as Canadians say enough is enough. We will be the leaders in the 21st century, for they will follow us by example, not demands. I am very proud to say that I am Canadian. We our looked up by humanitarians all around the world, for our great decision making and contributions. We must strengthen our commitment to mankind. Paul Martin is currently taking steps to ensure our government will always remain in the hands of the people. We have seen Americas mistakes, we have learned from them, and as a result we our stronger. Its time we put an end to all this greed & hatred which we our seeing in our world. We hear the worlds crying calls. Now you will see action by our country.
