David Tua's immediate future could be sorted out shortly- could fight Corrie Sanders for WBO title
David Tua's immediate boxing future could be sorted out in the next week or so.
Tua's management team heads back to Las Vegas on Thursday after a short break back in New Zealand, although Tua is not going back with them.
He will stay in Auckland until his next fight date is sorted out.
David Tua's manager-trainer Kevin Barry says the immediate future can go one of two ways.
Tua will either be fighting Corrie Sanders for the WBO title, or some other boxer for the IBF number one contender's berth.
Kevin Barry says whatever happens with those two options, he wants to have David Tua in the ring twice before the end of the year, possibly
And there are two more important boxing tests for a couple of the country's up and coming overseas professionals.
Heavyweight Shane Cameron and welterweight Danny Codling have been confirmed for bouts in a fortnight in Nevada, and then they'll fight on another
card early next month.
Their manager-trainer Kevin Barry says the short turn around will test them, but they won't be up against major opponents.
Barry says they don't need too big a test at this early stage, it is more important they learn from the professional pressure and also the short two
week turnaround between the two bouts.
