Boxing: Byrd likes idea of bout with resurrected Toney

Byrd, contacted in Las Vegas about a possible bout with Toney, said Tuesday that he'd be happy to oblige.

"It would be awesome -- a great fight," Byrd said. "If it happened in Detroit, I think it would be amazing."

Promoter Dan Goossen said Toney, 34, would be prepared to meet Byrd (36-2, 20 KOs) as early as June.

After the impressive showing by Toney against Jirov I expect this to be a great fight. Can't wait.

This should be a great fight if it happens,the way Toney fought the other night i was impressed...He seems to have got back on track now and he likes to fight southpaws....
