I don't know how valid this is. I just searched CNN.COM and didn't find anything.

This email came from my Human Resources Department @ work.

Again, If this is fake I apologize, but thought if it's real, I should share the information!

DRUG RECALL -

I checked out/verified the info at the FDA website .

Subject: Important drug recall

URGENT- DRUG RECALL.

All drugs containing PHENYLPROPANOLAMINE are being recalled. You may want to try calling the 800 number listed on most drug boxes and inquire about a REFUND. Please read this CAREFULLY. Also, please pass this on
to everyone you know.

STOP TAKING anything containing this ingredient. It has been linked to increased hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in the brain) among women ages 18-49 in the three days
after starting use of medication. Problems were not found in men, however, the FDA recommended that everyone (even children) seek an alternative medicine.

It appears to be a fairly old warning (dating to 2000 or so):
www.fda.gov...
www.mca.gov.uk...

The reason you can't find info on the recall is that they recalled it years ago and replaced it. You might want to educate your HR department about this, though, and remind them that important recalls and announcements are NOT given in email but are given in news reports.
