AUSTRALIAN cycling's drug scandal has cost the nation's most decorated rider, Shane Kelly, a potential $300,000 sponsorship deal with NEC, the nation's leading IT company.
"It is a shame because the concept was impressive," said company spokesman George Hazim.
"However NEC is about community values and we would not want to compromise our position if there is any suggestion of drugs being involved in cycling."
Kelly, 32, has been implicated with Olympic squad members Sean Eadie, Jobie Dajka, Graeme Brown and Brett Lancaster in the scandal that resulted in an Olympic life ban for Mark French, 19.
