WILLIE Hamilton can now add the Irish Criterium title to his list of credits.

The Audi East Antrim rider put in a superb performance in the Ormeau Park to win the championship.

The event, held as part of Belfast Bike week and sponsored by Belfast City Council 'Support for Sport' and Slane Cycles, saw over 40 top class riders line up for the main event.

Midway through the race a small group broke clear. Among these were Willie Hamilton (Audi East Antrim), Aaron Deane (Total Cycling Litespeed), Paul Healion (Usher), and Tommy Evans (Total Cycling Litespeed.

In the final straight Willlie Hamilton found the legs for a final sprint for the line to claim victory, leaving Aaron Deane to take silver and Paul Healion the bronze.
