TWO of Australia's Olympic gold medal hopes may have been part of a group of cyclists that allegedly used a training camp room as a shooting gallery for banned drugs.

Labor senator John Faulkner made the sensational allegations in parliament yesterday, just a week after Australian Institute of Sport cyclist and Olympic hopeful Mark French was banned for two years and fined $1000 after a drugs probe.

Senator Faulkner, a former sports minister, used parliamentary privilege to catalogue a string of accusations of shooting galleries and manufacturing of illegal drugs at the Adelaide campus of the AIS.

Senator Faulkner alleged that a senior member of the AIS squad had introduced the 19-year-old track rider French to legal vitamins injections at the Del Monte training camp in Adelaide in June 2003.
