Disgraced hooker Ryan Hudson was today contemplating an uncertain future after losing his appeal against a two-year drugs ban. The 25-year-old former Huddersfield, Wakefield and Castleford forward was suspended by the Rugby Football League last month after testing positive for the steroid stanozolol. Hudson contested the length of the ban but a new three-man RFL advisory panel dismissed the appeal and ordered him to pay a further 175 in costs, in addition to the 293 imposed at the original hearing on March 9.
The former England A international, who admitted his "act of stupidity", now faces a question mark over his future. He was tested in December, only days after completing his move from relegated Castleford to Bradford Bulls, who subsequently terminated his three-year contract without him ever playing a match for them.
