London Broncos coach Tony Rea has turned to former Penrith and Parramatta utility forward Lee Hopkins to fill the void created by the departure of a
host of seasoned players. Twenty-six-year-old Hopkins, who made more than a hundred appearances in Australia's National Rugby League, has caught the
eye in the Broncos' opening two friendlies against Union Treiziste Catalane and Leeds Rhinos.
Rea believes the hard-working Hopkins, who represented Australia Under-19s, can help offset the loss of experienced players Steele Retchless, Jim
Dymock, Nigel Roy and Mat Toshack who all returned to Australia at the end of last season. London, who have made 11 close-season signings, play their
third pre-season friendly against Wigan at Orrell on Sunday - by which time Rea hopes to have his side fully prepared for the Super League opener
against Warrington on February 13.
