England pair Charlie Hodgson and Mark Cueto have signed new contracts with Sale Sharks until 2007.
Both players would have been out of contract in the summer and they had been linked with moves away from Edgeley Park - Hodgson to Northampton and
Cueto to Saracens.
But both progressed through the ranks at Sale and have decided to continue their careers with the Sharks.
Hodgson, 24, said: "I have always been happy at Sale and know, that with our current squad of players and coaching staff, we have an excellent chance
of winning silverware."
Cueto, a year older than his club and international colleague, said: "Sale Sharks gave me my big chance in 2001 and I am settled in the area. There
was interest from other clubs but I never wanted to leave the Sharks who, I believe, are on the verge of great things."
The club's CEO Niels de Vos was understandably delighted to have signed up two of the club's crown jewels.
