The video analyst who exposed the now infamous Kamp Staaldraad training camp has been found dead at his home in Durban after allegedly committing
Dale McDermott, who was 35, worked as the video analyst for the Springboks for two years during the coaching tenure of Rudolf Straeuli.
He died of a gunshot wound to the head. Police have said that no foul play is suspected.
McDermott - who was a popular figure in the Springbok management team - filmed the images that shocked the rugby world before the 2003 World Cup,
showing the Springboks naked and shivering in a pit during their boot-style camp.
Releasing the pictures ultimately cost him his job at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, who were contracted to help the Boks with
their analysis at the time.
