Wigan, who have been made fourth favourites by their latest sponsors to finish top of Super League X, are poised to bring down their odds with a major signing, according to chairman Maurice Lindsay.

The Warriors are believed to be closing in on a scrum-half replacement for the retired Adrian Lam which would complete their rebuilding.

Lindsay, speaking at the launch of a club-record sponsorship deal with totesport, said: "We will be announcing a major signing in a week's time which will probably complete our squad."
