THE scoreline suggests another mauling for Gala, but it was difficult to judge whether Currie were totally on fire or if the visitors were really so far off the pace.

Two of Currie’s eight tries came gift-wrapped in the first half; two more in the second when Gala captain John Dalziel was in the sin-bin.

In between, Currie showed they had rid themselves of the image of a side solely with a big pack against a Gala team lacking in confidence and more so the physical presence needed for the modern game.
