THE advantages of teamwork were brought into sharp relief by Ayr at Millbrae on Saturday as they took revenge for home and away defeats at the hands of Boroughmuir last season.

The side from the west gelled as a unit, giving them the upper hand over a Boroughmuir side who looked at times as if they had been introduced to each other in the dressing room immediately before the game.

Led by lock Jamie McCall up front and centre Kyle Bruning in the three-quarters, Ayr constantly made inroads into the Boroughmuir lines. On too many occasions, though, the finishing touch was lacking.
