The Welsh Rugby Union have finally ended the saga of Gareth Thomas' move to Toulouse by allowing him to join the Heineken Cup finalists.
Toulouse's hopes of signing Thomas appeared to have foundered in April when they were unable to agree a fee with Celtic Warriors owner Leighton
Samuel, who wanted £200,000 to release the player from his contract.
The French giants offered half that amount which was eventually accepted, only for the Warriors to then enter liquidation in June because of mounting
financial problems.
News of the Welsh regional side's demise proved something of a bonus for Toulouse who now believed they could sign Thomas for free - but the WRU
declared otherwise.
