Wakefield Wildcats have signed prop forward Duncan Macgillivray but failed in an audacious bid to capture Australian Test centre Michael Devere.
Macgillivray, a former Australian schoolboy captain who had been playing in France, was lined up to join Salford but has now pledged his future to
Wakefield until the end of this season.
But the Wildcats have not been able to pull off the signing of Brisbane Broncos' goalkicking centre Devere, who was part of Australia's triumphant
Ashes squad last year.
