Australia scored a resounding 217 runs win over India in the first test in Bangalore today. Resuming at 105 for six this morning, India, chasing a mammoth 457 were bundled out for 239.
It was only Rahul Dravid's fighting knock 60 and stiff resistance by the tail enders that delayed a possible Australian victory till lunch.
The Indians did not go down without a fight. Harbajan Singh and Irfaan Patel put on 79 for the ninth wicket - the best partnership of the innings. Pathan went on to record his maiden test half century.
