Former Zimbabwe batsman Grant Flower has signed a two-year contract with Essex which will begin next season.
The 33-year-old will not be classed as an overseas player after the 'Kolpak' ruling was passed by the European Court of Justice - which allows teams to sign an unlimited number of players from certain countries.
