TOM HUDDLESTONE (Tottenham) - born December 28, 1986




A strapping defender-cum-midfielder who will hope to become a key part of the English revolution under Martin Jol at Spurs. Calm in possession and a good distributor of the ball, he burst to prominence at Derby and Spurs saw fit to spend 2.5million on this highly-rated prospect.

TextThe London club acquired his services from Derby County in July 2005 for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be around 2.5 million. He had made is Derby debut on the opening day of the 2003/04 season in a 3-0 defeat to Stoke City. Huddlestone spent a few months of the 2005/2006 season on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring his first league goal, ironically at Derby, before returning to make his debut for Tottenham as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat away at Fulham on the 31st of January 2006. He is a regular in the England under-21s.
