PAUL ANDERSON (Liverpool) - born July 23, 1988

Winger Anderson joined Liverpool from Hull on New Year's Day 2006 in a deal which saw John Welsh go the other way. Anderson was part of the Reds' FA Youth Cup-winning side and can play on either flank.

In January 2006, after a series of scintillating displays for Liverpool reserves and under-18 teams, a permanent transfer was arranged. A swap deal saw Liverpool's John Welsh move to Hull, while Anderson went the other way. On 15 July 2006, Anderson made a memorable debut for the Liverpool first team in a pre-season friendly against Wrexham. Anderson scored an early goal in the fifth minute to set Liverpool on their way to a 2-0 victory. He met Riise's cross with an excellent volley which easily defeated Wrexham goalkeeper Michael Jones.
