Can't hackers get into your computer if you run SETI applications?

I suppose a determined hacker could get into any machine if they wanted to Immortal?

From my personal experience, though, I've not been hacked and have run SETI@home since July 2001. For about 18months I've had cable modem connection too - and both my machines run SETI@home 24/7 without difficulty.

I *do* have a firewall and updated AVP, and run Ad-Aware too, of course but, if someone wanted to "hack", then I guess they would??

But, I want to crack those WU's!! Go team ATS!!

Yep, they could. everything has flaws. including firewalls.

Agreed - but does SETI@home make you *more* susceptible to "hacker attack" or "interest" than if you *don't* run it Shadow? That's what I was trying to reassure Immortal about, in any case.
