Football: Bellamy questioned by police

Celtic striker Craig Bellamy was quizzed by police following an incident in Glasgow - even though he was 200 miles away in Inverness at the time.

The Newcastle star - on loan at Parkhead until the end of the season - was questioned by police concerning an incident in the city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

But Bellamy was tucked up in bed in an Inverness hotel when the incident took place at around 4am. Celtic have now called on police to punish the person who made the false allegations.

the latest was, the police are wondering if they should punish the guy who did the claim,

Innocent untill proven guilty.... Bad thing fir Bellamy though, thought he would make a fresh start at Celtic and then this happens. I know it wasn't him but its still not good publicity for him..

but like you said, he aint played yet and the first time hes in the papers, it was with lennon and lennon saying, am going to look out for him, show him the area etc.

then its this, am sure he would have preffered to have scored goals
