Football: Thomas on the road to recovery

Former England midfielder Geoff Thomas is now in remission from leukaemia, it has been announced. Thomas was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia in July 2003 after a career spanning 550 games and seven clubs, including Crystal Palace, Wolves, Crewe and Nottingham Forest.

In January last year he entered the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, to undergo a bone marrow transplant donated by his sister, Katy Hill, which was successful.
