Football: Redknapp and Johnson rewarded

Harry Redknapp has been rewarded for Portsmouth's fabulous form with the Manager of the Month award.

Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson has scooped the Barclays Player of the Month prize after his own splendid goal-glut has propelled the relegation favourites up the table.

Redknapp's Pompey were unbeaten throughout October and secured a superb 2-0 victory against Manchester United last Saturday.

The South Coast side also defeated Tottenham and drew at Norwich City and Middlesbrough.

Johnson scored a vital winner at former club Birmingham City in his last outing for Palace and is the top scoring Englishman in The Premiership.

Indeed, only Arsenal ace Thierry Henry is above him in the list of leading goalscorers.

The 23-year-old bagged four goals in four games in October.
