Football: Celtic to miss out on Saviola

Celtic have missed out on a loan deal for Javier Saviola, according to Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

Hoops boos Martin O'Neill was keen to borrow the Argentinian and had held talks with Barca before the two clubs were drawn in the same Champions League group.

But the player now appears to be on the verge of joining Monaco, Laporta revealed.
