A battery of tests revealed that Mike Lowell (3B) Fla has nothing more than a strained groin, and he could be back in action as soon as Monday, according to the Sun-Sentinel. There was concern that the problem may have been related to his testicular cancer from 1999 after a cyst was discovered, but tests ruled out the possibility of cancer in that area.

Phew thank god for that i was getting worried Lowell was one of my best players.....

Well looks like PA is the only person that had a good day at the bat. And everybody else didnt now that bites the big one. Well looks like i am gaining a little ground on PA.

Yep Ben when it seems to get better it goes and gets bad again...I have had a bad week at the plate so im hoping for my players to pick up..!!!!

- Jason Schmidt (P) SF arrived to the ballpark Sunday with tenderness in his right arm. The Giants are considering giving him two extra days of rest, and may even decide to give him a full week. As of right now he's scheduled to pitch on Thursday, but it's looking doubtful that he'll make the start. Nyeff

- As expected, Jeff Kent (2B) Hou did not play for the Astros on Saturday. He was given the day off to rest his wrist after playing in his first two games back from the disabled list. Nyeff

- A source close to Mike Lowell (3B) Fla said the third baseman probably will land on the disabled list due to a groin injury that is more serious than first thought, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Surgery is not expected to be necessary, but the injury could go beyond just his groin and could be of "grave concern," a second source said. TRD

- The Cubs opted to bump Mark Prior (P) ChN from his scheduled start Saturday since he is still feeling discomfort from a collision with Atlanta's Marcus Giles on July 11, according to the AP. "He's still sore, and we thought a couple days might help him," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. "We don't want to hold him back, but the thinking was it's the best for him, it's the best for us." PA

- Bret Boone (2B) Sea was ejected in the first inning of Friday's game when he threw his bat and helmet in disgust after striking out swinging, according to the AP. Boone was apparently angry about a called strike earlier in the at-bat. Ben
